Thank you for your kind words, Liz. It means a lot to know this is helping you stay grounded. These uncomfortable feelings can be really heavy to carry, but when we lean in gently — which feels completely counterintuitive — we can actually move through them with more steadiness. It’s not easy, but processing them is part of how we stay whole.

I’m grateful we’ve connected here, Liz, and that we’re walking this path together.

Thank you again! I struggled mentally yesterday with powerlessness. I live in an epicenter of military targets. Today I’m focusing on straightforward bureaucratic tasks to prep for the future. renewing my passport, looking into Canadian or France extended stay and tying up my living trust papers so my little brother could get what he needs to send his kids to college or buy a house in case I’m killed. These have brought some hope for my own future at least, and do not require creativity which is in short supply when worried.

Thank you for sharing this so openly Sabrina. That feeling of powerlessness can be crushing, especially when you’re living in such a high-risk area, and I really admire how you’re meeting that feeling by taking clear, tangible steps. Focusing on what you can do — the paperwork, the passport, the practical preparations — builds self-efficacy and can bring a surprising steadiness, especially when you're lacking creative energy. This is a good way to reclaim your agency, and I’m glad you’re finding a little hope in that.

Please keep taking good care of yourself Sabrina — your presence and your voice matter.

What's keeping me in balance is the belief that this U.S. bombardment is a "one and done" deal. I disagree wholeheartedly with this action, period, believing it's an Iraqi like WMD ruse.

Trump is keeping his war hawks happy while letting the isolationist bunch know it will never be a protracted engagement. And I believe Trump does not want anything ongoing, requiring him to attend numerous meetings and briefings. Like everything else, it's all about himself, and an actual war would totally mess with his tee times.

I pray that's the case W.J. — that this might be a one-off move rather than the start of something wider. Because you’re right: Trump’s track record does point to a deep aversion to anything that would tie him down or demand sustained attention. It’s all so transactional for him. But with Iran already retaliating, even limited strikes could take on a life of their own. I still really hope your sense of this holds — that it doesn’t spiral any further. It would be such a relief if that’s how it plays out.
