This is the third and final post in my series guiding you on how to prepare for maximum safety during the April 5 national march. My first two posts focused on protestors themselves — how to prepare before leaving home, and how to stay safe on the ground.

But even if you’re not attending, the protest may still affect you. There are over 600 planned events, spanning all 50 states. Roads will close, transport may be disrupted, and services could be cut. In many places, tensions will run high. You should be aware of, and prepared for all of this, especially if you belong to a marginalised community.

So this post is for everyone else — the people who may find themselves near a protest zone, moving through it, or living close by. It’s especially for those who are already navigating risk because of who they are. You don’t need to be protesting to get caught in the fallout.
